MANDATORY PET STERILIZATION LEGISLATION
We at Von Links Dachshunds want you to be aware that proposed
legislation is appearing in many towns, counties and states across the country. The proposals may be introduced on their own
merit or attached to other animal control issues such as “Bad Dog” breed specific proposals. In any case, please
watch for and act on any instances. The points being made are that if the law requires your pet be spayed or neutered,
it will control the staggering number of stray and unwanted pets. This would result in fewer numbers of animals euthanized
and reduce budget costs. It would help control backyard breeders and puppy mills. The amount of money saved would have
to be spent policing the laws!! Backyard breeders and puppy mills make far too much money to let something like this stop
them. Marijuana is illegal but is most likely growing in every town in this country. The AKC supports a division which
investigates and helps campaign against unreasonable legislation proposals. You can research your area through the AKC.org
website.
